2. Add Multiple Views

Adds several views at once — useful when processing a whole batch of sheets. With this option, you can set a name directly for the new view in the list and on the sheet. Here, renaming works in both directions. The selection of views from the dropdown menu only includes views that have not yet been added to sheets

 



3. Checkbox (row selection)

Marks which rows will be included in the next action (Remove or Proceed Sheet). Works the same way as in Windows: Shift selects a range between two rows, Ctrl adds or removes individual rows from the selection. The header checkbox selects all rows at once.

 



4. Sheet #

The sheet's number in the queue — automatically ordered. Changing the number here is reflected directly in Revit's sheet list, and renaming works in both directions. If a new row is generated as a result of a number correction, the system automatically fills in the missing number or the next one in sequence.

 



5. View

Shows which view is set and which standard/format applies to it (e.g., ISO 5457 A-series), as well as the assigned name if you used Add Multiple Views.

 



6. Title

Choose the title block to apply to the sheet. The title block is a container — you're free to fill it with your own information, design, font, logo, and so on. The system supports a minimum and maximum size, AAA×BBB and CCC×DDD respectively.

 



7. Legend

Choose the legend to add to the sheet. A standard Revit legend, which you populate freely with your own content and design. The same size limits as the title block apply here as well.

 



8. Schedule

Choose a schedule to include on the same sheet, if needed. Standard Revit schedules.

 



9. Grid

The reference grid used to orient the drawing sheet — numbers and letters along the sheet's edges.

 



10. Folds

Fold lines for reducing the sheet to A4 format, with a 20 mm margin on the left. Currently available only for the ISO and BIMSheets standards.

 



11. Size

When enabled, the system adds a small text at the bottom right showing the standard's name and the sheet size in mm — e.g., "Standard ......... AAA×BBB."

 



12. Tag

Automatically labels each view on the sheet — a small caption at the bottom right, within the bounds of the view itself (or views).

 



13. Font

The selected font controls the text of the grid markers, tags, and the size label.

 



14. Status

Automatically tracks each row's state

  • "Sheet Ready to Create" — the row is ready, but no sheet exists yet

  • "Sheet Created" — the sheet has been created and synchronized

  • "Sheet Ready to Recreate" — a sheet already exists, but the geometry/settings have changed

  • "Needs Review" — error (missing/disabled crop or scope box, unrealistic scale, title block/legend outside allowed dimensions, etc.), with a popup explanation"

If the title block, legend, or view has an issue, a context bubble appears with specific information on what needs to be fixed. A small arrow opens the finished sheet directly, so changes (to the view, legend, title block, or checkboxes) can be seen in real time when "Proceed Sheet" is pressed.

 



15. Standards
 

  • ISO — sizes based on ISO 5457 A-series (A0–A4) and elongated formats.

  • American ARCH / ANSI — standard imperial dimensions.

  • BIMSheets sizes — BIMSheets' own metric sizes, based on a 10 or 15 cm increment, with defined minimum and maximum width and height limits — 300x250mm, and 2000x1450mm.

     



16. Remove

Removes the selected rows from the list. As in Revit, a row with an open sheet cannot be deleted. If one of the selected rows has an open sheet, the system removes all the others and displays a message noting that this particular row was skipped because its sheet is currently open.

 



17. Proceed Sheet

Runs the task for the selected rows. Once complete, a summary is shown — how many sheets were created, how many were updated, and which ones encountered an error or issue.

General Notes
 
Proceed Sheet has no fixed row limit. In real-world testing, a batch of 50 rows processed at approximately 0.1 seconds per sheet, measured by the system's own timer. A live progress counter tracks exactly how many sheets are completed out of the total.
 
If you delete a sheet created by the system directly from Revit's sheet list, the corresponding row in the panel is preserved — running Proceed Sheet again will recreate the sheet. If you also delete the row in the panel, the view is no longer in the list and can be re-added the usual way, from scratch.
 
Sheets can also be created through Revit's standard workflow, alongside the panel.
 
At this time, Revit cannot be used while the panel is open — if needed, the panel must be closed. This will be improved for smoother workflow in upcoming versions. Reopening the panel preserves your settings and statuses, reflecting any changes that occurred.
 
Elements created by the system on the sheet are managed automatically. If you delete them or add new elements over them, running Proceed Sheet again restores the drawing, and any "new" elements you added will automatically be removed.

Renaming the view automatically updates the sheet name as well. Renaming only works in one direction — view → sheet. To the left of the view's label there is a small button with a dropdown menu, from which you can convert it from a single view to a multiple, with the list showing only the views that have not yet been used for creating sheets.

 

BIMSheets

BIMSheets — Overview

BIMSheets is a plugin for Autodesk Revit that lets you select one or more views, title blocks, legends, and schedules, and turn them into finished sheets with a single click.
